PNR Live in Sydney

We knew this year’s Content Marketing World Sydney conference was going to be something special when the proceedings kicked off on Monday night with a live recording of the Joe Pulizzi and Robert Rose ‘This Old Marketing’ podcast. Filled with cheers, heated discussion and lots of laughter, the podcast set the tone for a fantastic event and day one certainly didn’t disappoint.

Opened by the content marketing godfather himself, Joe Pulizzi, day one brought all of the Content Marketing World Sydney attendees together for a series of eight keynotes presented by world-renowned experts including our very own Todd Wheatland.

There was plenty of A-HA moments, laughter (we’re looking at you Tim Washer) and lots of actionable insights that we can’t wait to apply to our work. But perhaps most valuable of all, there was plenty of discussion and Q&A sessions that saw like-minded marketers come together to share their challenges and experience. It’s this opportunity for sharing and learning collaboratively that keeps us coming back to Content Marketing World Sydney every year.

If you couldn’t attend the conference or were just a little overwhelmed with the amount of content presented on the day, we’ve put together the SlideShares below to summarise the key insights from the conference. Enjoy!

Day one wasn’t just about the speakers, the attendees we’re tweeting up a storm!

In fact, we managed to get #cmworld trending in Sydney. Check out how the conversation around Content Marketing World Sydney spilled onto social media in our collection of top tweets from day one of the event.

Day two

Day two of Content Marketing World Sydney dawned bright and sunny. There were a few sore heads from the festivities at Cyren Bar the evening before, but attendees were nonetheless eager to get involved and learn.

The sessions on day two were divided into the following streams:

• Strategy and measurement

• Channels and innovation

• Creation and distribution

There was something for everyone and the sessions were more focused on case studies and actionable advice for marketers embarking on content marketing (rather than the big picture inspiration and insight pieces of day one).

Even with a divide-and-conquer strategy, our team still didn’t manage to catch every session (there were too many great options!). But the ones we did attend were insightful, with each speaker offering a unique perspectives on content marketing best practice. Like day one, there was plenty of discussion amongst attendees and the speakers.

As the last session of the conference came to a close, we couldn’t help but look around and be inspired by the hundreds of Australian marketers energised and excited about content marketing and how they were going to apply the lessons of the event to their work.

For us, that was the perfect way to end Content Marketing World, amongst marketers and new-found friends ready to advance the practice of content marketing in Australia.
